We took a trip to the Las Vegas Market
Sourcing EVERYTHING for the Stonewall ML over 4 exhausting days!
This one is for the inner designer in all of us!
We are replacing everything in the Stonewall Motor Lodge as part of our renovation and rebranding. New bathrooms, flooring, paint, windows, doors, etc. But we're also pouring ALOT of time and money into the important items that will give our guests the right experience. Furniture, linens, lighting, accessories, as well as tile and floor choices, room layout and more.
This week we attended the Las Vegas Winter Market. Four FULL days, covering over 170 showrooms in 3 buildings, spread out over 250,000 square feet. All Home and Gift, showrooms cover furniture, linens, lighting, flooring, gift and accessories. There's also two Pavillions covering another 100,000 square feet of 600 temporary exhibitors. While I've been to the Dallas Market several times, this one was CRAZY, but I didn't tackle it alone!
My cousin and a partner in the motel, Frances, came out for a couple of days to help divide and conquer. She's got a great eye and knows me well enough to keep me focused. We also had some time for a bit of fun in the showrooms! I love this girl!
It was packed and the showrooms really stepped it up versus Dallas. Lunch, drinks, dinner was served in most of the bigger showrooms. Lots of events, seminars, celebrities. We saw Kathy Ireland walking out of a show she was doing for her furniture line and Frances recognized the event planner from Vanderpump Rules. It was definitely an experience.
So what trends did we see? When it came to linens, navy blue was everywhere. Luckily, this is my first choice for our main color in the rooms. Most furniture was light, bleached out, neutral. Everything was HUGE and not made for a small motel, which made finding furniture pieces challenging. Bling is in for furniture (I had no idea!) as we saw several showrooms where the BeDazzler had gone MAD. Unfortunately, I didn't take any pics but was stumped at who buys jeweled bedroom furniture.
We were lucky enough to have a big connection at the show. Cody Ables, who owns the design firm, Codarus (with showrooms in Dallas, Vegas and Laguna Niguel, CA) is a friend of ours from San Angelo so we made a point to stop by to see him. He's picked out a collection of linens for us, including sheets to die for. The bed is "the big thing" for us, so it has to be super comfy and we're bumping up our budget to make sure it's right. To round out the bed, we purchased our mattresses, frames, Talalay pillows from Juvea and mattress protectors. We are leaning towards these leather and velvet headboards from Four Hands.
We want to give a nod to the hotels history, so we're throwing in a few mid century furniture pieces in. We fell in love with a line called Lumisource. Chairs, tables, and a few pieces for the lounge area were found here.

I can't tell you how many pictures, catalogues, and business cards I have to go through to make some final decisions in the next few weeks. But, I did pull some of this onto a mood board so I have some focus. Here's what we have planned for some of the rooms, and I'd like to change it up in the others.
